The Canadian College of Technology and Business (CCTB) is hiring a Job Developer to forge key industry connections and drive student career success. Your primary objective is to develop strong employer partnerships that generate meaningful and appropriate work placement opportunities for our students.
What You'll Do
- Conduct proactive employer outreach to identify work placement opportunities for students.
- Establish and nurture relationships with local, regional, and national employers across hospitality, business, and information technology.
- Organize and execute monthly on-campus or virtual employer events, site visits, career fairs, and panel discussions.
- Promote the value of hiring international and domestic students in hospitality, business, and information technology.
- Match students with appropriate work placements and provide follow-up support.
- Serve as primary contact for employers to address any challenges in work placements.
- Use CRM (Hubspot) to track and manage employer contacts, interactions, and placement progress.
- Conduct ongoing labour market research to identify emerging employment trends and in-demand skills.
- Maintain accurate records of employer partnerships, student job outcomes, and placement statistics.
What We're Looking For
- A post-secondary credential.
- At least 2 years’ experience in job development, business development, or work placement roles.
- Proven success in sales, recruitment, or outreach roles with measurable outcomes.
- Experience working in an intercultural environment.
- Intermediate computer skills – experience in MS Office 365, especially Excel and Word.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
- Demonstrated high level of customer service and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with many deadlines.
- Punctual, self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and under supervision.
- Access to reliable transportation for employer outreach, preferably with own vehicle and a Class 5 driver’s license.
Nice to Have
- Experience with database management or student information systems.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, Hubspot preferred.
