Ferguson Enterprises is hiring a Buyer / Planner to deliver service and inventory goals by ensuring the right inventory is in the right place at the right time. You will work cross-functionally with Customer Groups, Distribution Centers, Demand Planners, and Sales Leaders to incorporate strategy into plans and maintain strong supplier partnerships.
What You'll Do
- Develop, purchase, and complete inventory replenishment strategies that meet the aligned business strategy.
- Manage inventory replenishment settings and make adjustments to deliver targets.
- Ensure planned orders are processing in line with expectations and investigate/resolve order alignment issues.
- Design, implement, and action alerts that identify exceptional issues impacting service or inventory.
- Conduct replenishment data analysis to root cause current and future service failures, then communicate and take action to fix them.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Groups, Branches, Sourcing, Demand Planning, and Warehouses to gather information and provide education on the replenishment process.
- Serve as the first-level check for inquiries about service failures and decide on resolution path.
- Proactively analyze business processes and develop solutions to improve team performance.
- Work with DC fulfillment to flow product through warehouses using optimal replenishment settings without impacting customer service.
- Monitor rebalancing of assigned inventory to ensure excess inventory is optimized.
- Cancel or expedite orders as necessary to deliver service targets.
- Use planning software to build optimal container and/or truckload orders to suppliers.
- Analyze, report, and act on replenishment planning KPIs (Instocks, Fill Rate, Days of Inventory, Inefficient Inventory) on a regular cadence.
- Coach and develop associates within and outside of their functional area.

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Analytics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or an equivalent functional area.
- Advanced skills in Excel (pivots, lookups).
- Database query languages (such as SQL) and data visualization skills (such as Power BI).
- Experience working in a supply chain planning software.

Compensation for this role is $3,375.00 - $8,433.70 monthly.
Work Mode
This is a hybrid position based in Newport News, VA.
