About the Role

Role Overview

This position is responsible for maintaining and improving local IT operations within a distributed environment. Reporting to the IT Director, the specialist ensures that infrastructure, applications, and projects align with corporate guidelines while supporting day-to-day business needs across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of IT projects, ensuring compliance with security and corporate standards.
  • Manage local IT infrastructure not covered by central teams, including asset tracking, telephony, printers, switches, and routers.
  • Support remote users by diagnosing and resolving technical issues, with thorough documentation of solutions.
  • Assist in deploying software and managing hardware procurement, including purchase coordination, receiving, and capital expenditure requests.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring timely access provisioning and deactivation.
  • Perform network diagnostics and support upgrades to maintain reliable connectivity across sites.
  • Ensure data backup procedures are followed and systems are protected according to policy.
  • Enforce corporate IT and risk management policies across local operations.
  • Provide direct support for business applications such as ERP, production systems, labeling tools, and LIMS, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Develop training content, operating procedures, and user documentation to improve system adoption.
  • Plan and conduct user acceptance testing, system audits, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Monitor application performance and lead quality assurance efforts for new or updated systems.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for application support and maintenance.
  • Propose local IT improvements and lead small-scale projects following corporate methodologies.
  • Define local requirements and transfer support needs to regional or external providers as appropriate.
  • Participate in cross-functional IT meetings and collaborate on enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Travel to plants and other facilities as required to resolve technical issues or support deployments.
  • Manage multiple support tasks simultaneously, adhering to defined response times and project deadlines.
  • Work closely with business units and technology teams as an internal consultant to bridge operational and technical needs.
  • Provide regular updates and reporting to the Business IT Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing local IT infrastructure, including asset tracking, network devices, and end-user systems.
  • Proven ability to resolve remote user issues and maintain resolution records.
  • Experience with software and hardware procurement, including Capex processes.
  • Familiarity with employee lifecycle support, from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Knowledge of network troubleshooting and upgrade procedures.
  • Commitment to maintaining data backup schedules and system integrity.
  • Experience deploying and enforcing corporate IT and risk management policies.
  • Hands-on support experience with ERP, LIMS, production, and labeling systems.
  • Ability to create clear training materials and technical documentation.
  • Background in user acceptance testing, system audits, and post-implementation evaluations.
  • Understanding of quality assurance and system performance monitoring.
  • Project management experience within an IT context, following defined standards.
  • Ability to define local IT needs and coordinate support handovers.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills with adherence to deadlines.
  • Experience in cross-functional IT collaboration and enterprise-level initiatives.
  • Consultative approach to working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.

Technical Environment

ERP platforms, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), production and labeling software, Nutreco IT Policy framework, GITS, Unisys, and internal Business IT systems.

Work Mode

This is an onsite role with potential travel to plants and other locations based on operational needs.
