Role Overview
As a Business Systems Analyst, you will serve as the essential link between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring platform development supports strategic objectives. Your work will directly influence the evolution of key platforms focused on ESG reporting, impact analytics, and financial innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product owners and business teams to identify, clarify, and document functional and non-functional requirements
- Create and maintain business requirements documents, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Map business processes, data flows, and system interactions across multiple integrated platforms
- Lead discovery sessions, workshops, and stakeholder meetings to align on requirements
- Translate technical details into clear insights for non-technical audiences and vice versa
- Identify dependencies, risks, and gaps early, escalating as needed to technical leadership
- Develop in-depth knowledge of platform capabilities, including ESG reporting, data analytics, and impact measurement tools
- Analyze current functionality against business goals to identify improvement opportunities
- Support integration planning with third-party systems and external data sources
- Contribute to roadmap planning by providing insights from requirements analysis
- Work within Agile/Scrum processes, supporting sprint planning, backlog refinement, and story development
- Partner with the Tech Manager to prioritize work based on business value and technical constraints
- Participate in sprint reviews and retrospectives to ensure alignment with documented needs
- Monitor delivery progress, reporting on blockers and status updates
- Evaluate user experience designs from a business and user perspective, identifying areas for improvement
- Collaborate with designers and developers to ensure solutions meet both user needs and business goals
- Support user acceptance testing to verify that delivered features fulfill requirements
- Apply a product-focused mindset, emphasizing user outcomes and long-term value over isolated features
Required Qualifications
- 3–6 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or a related role within a software or SaaS environment
- Proven track record in gathering, documenting, and managing requirements
- Strong communication skills, with experience facilitating stakeholder discussions
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Proficiency with tools such as Confluence, Jira, Notion, or similar platforms
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in ESG, sustainability reporting, impact investing, or financial technology
- Understanding of data platforms, APIs, or system integration concepts
- Exposure to UX research or product management practices
- Experience working in small, cross-functional teams in the Asia-Pacific region
- Proficiency in a second Asian language is a plus
