The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is looking for a Business Systems Analyst I to join the Process Engineering Unit within the Office of Continuous Improvement for the Division of Water Infrastructure (OCI-DWI). You will be responsible for designing, examining, analyzing, and implementing business and financial systems to improve operational efficiency and support the agency’s mission of environmental stewardship for North Carolina.
What You'll Do
- Design, examine, analyze, develop, implement, administer, and monitor business and program processes, operation systems, and efficient business and financial systems for the OCI-DWI Process Engineering Unit.
- Evaluate business and program application systems, such as SAP/EBS, Laserfiche, and DWI-specific programs, to complete data analysis, identify gaps, and determine solutions to improve business operations.
- Design business and program systems solutions by identifying and evaluating options, resolving solution issues, and serving as a liaison between OCI-DWI business and project teams.
- Develop and deliver training.
- Research and review up-to-date OCI/DWI business processes and develop solutions.
- Research, design, implement, and manage database solutions for the OCI/DWI Process Engineering Unit.
- Evaluate OCI/DWI workflow processes, construct workflow diagrams and flowcharts to identify business process solutions.
- Manage multiple projects and timelines.
- Manage expectations in an environment of change, providing realistic project completion timelines and milestones while identifying necessary staffing and resources.
- Develop project proposals, identifying project goals, necessary resources, timelines, and deliverables.
- Provide complete project coordination, support, and management for special assigned projects related to OCI/DWI programs or processes.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution in a discipline related to the area of assignment with two years of programmatic experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
