As a Business Development Representative, you will play a key role in expanding the company’s client base by sourcing, qualifying, and nurturing leads. Working from the Indianapolis headquarters, you’ll use a mix of research, outreach, and relationship-building to connect with potential clients and decision-makers across industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify new business opportunities using LinkedIn, industry databases, cold calling, and targeted email campaigns
- Qualify leads to ensure alignment with the company’s ideal customer profile
- Generate partner referrals through existing relationships
- Build and manage a consistent pipeline of prospects through proactive outreach
- Initiate contact via phone, email, and social platforms to introduce services and schedule discovery meetings
- Engage executives and managers to understand their needs, challenges, and budget readiness
- Create personalized messaging based on prospect research and pain points
- Collaborate with sales teams to pass qualified leads and ensure smooth transitions
- Maintain accurate records in the CRM and track key performance metrics
- Provide feedback to sales leadership on customer objections and market trends
- Stay current on industry developments, product updates, and competitive offerings
- Follow up consistently to keep prospects engaged and nurture long-term relationships
What We’re Looking For
You communicate clearly and confidently, with the ability to articulate value to senior stakeholders. You’re self-driven, organized, and comfortable working independently while contributing to team goals. Experience with CRM platforms and sales tools is a plus.
- Proven ability to research prospects and initiate outreach through multiple channels
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn and explain product offerings effectively
- Detail-oriented with solid time management and organizational abilities
- Familiarity with cold calling, email outreach, and social selling techniques
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
- 1–2 years of experience in sales, lead generation, or business development is a plus
- Experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator is beneficial
