OTT HydroMet is hiring a Business Development Manager Meteorology West and South Europe

Responsibilities

  • Meet financial targets and KPIs by managing monthly forecasts and sales pipelines, with a focus on increasing share of wallet in assigned regions.
  • Evaluate distribution channels and key accounts to determine growth potential and define strategic plans for market expansion.
  • Engage regularly with key decision-makers and channel partners to uncover upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Stay informed on industry developments through peer collaboration, trade publications, and attendance at sector events.
  • Track account performance using KPIs, detect underperformance, and implement corrective actions during customer business reviews.
  • Balance time and territory effectively to execute sales strategies while resolving conflicts within the channel network.
  • Pursue new business through direct and indirect channels using consultative selling techniques.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with influential entities such as government bodies and engineering firms in the region.
  • Lead negotiations and execution of contracts, complex projects, and custom product development in coordination with internal departments.
  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and positioning to refine sales tactics and strengthen market advantage.
  • Participate in customer visits, trade shows, demonstrations, and partner engagements to support sales objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably with channel partners and key accounts in the meteorology sector
  • Proven ability to build relationships and deliver presentations to audiences with diverse technical knowledge
  • Proficiency in CRM tools for pipeline and forecast management
  • Fluent in spoken and written French and English
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently across South and West Europe, with a valid driver's license
  • Self-driven with a strong customer-centric approach

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Environmental Engineering
  • Knowledge of Spanish is beneficial

Part of a global team within OTT HydroMet, a Veralto company, working across meteorology segments in West and South Europe.

A Day In This Role

  • Deliver on revenue and KPI targets for assigned accounts, countries, and territories by managing sales forecasts and pipeline activity.
  • Grow distributor and target account performance by identifying expansion potential and deploying tailored strategies.
  • Maintain consistent engagement with key stakeholders and partners to uncover additional sales opportunities.
  • Use KPIs to monitor account health, conduct quarterly business reviews, and initiate improvement plans when needed.
  • Generate new business through direct and indirect channels using consultative sales methods.
  • Ensure sales plans are executed effectively while managing any conflicts within the partner network.
  • Stay updated on market shifts and industry trends through research, internal collaboration, and event participation.
  • Identify and build long-term relationships with authorities, engineering firms, and other influencers in the region.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, complex projects, and custom product development in coordination with internal teams.
  • Evaluate competitor strategies in pricing and market positioning to refine sales approaches.
  • Engage in customer visits, phone outreach, trade shows, product demos, and partner management activities.
