Appetiser Apps is looking for a Business Development Manager – Asia Pacific to deliver high-quality proposals and tenders across the region. You will focus on driving business growth, managing the end-to-end business development process, and working on opportunities from donors like DFAT in sectors such as economic management, climate change, and governance.
What You'll Do
- Drive business growth across the Asia-Pacific region.
- Support and eventually manage the end-to-end business development process from opportunity identification to bid submission.
- Deliver high-quality, innovative tenders aligned with client priorities.
- Identify and track strategic opportunities across the region.
- Maintain a forward-looking business development pipeline.
- Support and eventually lead preparation of technical and financial proposals.
- Strengthen partnerships to form effective consortia.
- Maintain and grow a high-quality APAC Associate Database.
- Coordinate across regional offices and technical practices to maximise collaboration.
- Support knowledge management and outward engagement.
- Contribute to refinement of internal business development tools and systems.
- Manage implementation of DFAT-funded assignments and programs.
- Prepare Terms of Reference and recruit long- and short-term associates.
- Support technical delivery where possible.
- Ensure monthly financial submissions are completed correctly.
- Consistently meet deadlines.
What We're Looking For
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject.
- Proven bid/proposal writing and bid management experience.
- Understanding of donor procurement cycles.
- Nuanced understanding of DFAT’s international development policy.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft products.
- Ability to build credible client relationships across multicultural stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure with accuracy.
- Willingness to travel and tackle unfamiliar challenges.
- Pragmatic, resourceful and confident in decision-making.
- Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia.
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree preferred, particularly in international development or related fields.
- Experience in international development or government agency preferred.

Team & Environment
Reports to Senior Manager, Business Development, Asia-Pacific. Works with Asia-Pacific team at the Sydney office and throughout the region, BD Teams based in India, London HQ and elsewhere, and HQ Central Support Teams.
