Markem-Imaje, a Dover Corporation company, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Techcon Global Sales Director, you will be responsible for the full Techcon product offering and accountable for all sales numbers in your assigned region.
What You'll Do
- Be responsible for all OK International customers within your defined region and brand responsibility.
- Maintain and develop professional relationships with all customers and prospective customers, promoting, selling, and providing technical support for all OK International product ranges.
- Perform regular visits to all customers and prospects to maintain the company's market presence.
- Provide product training to end users on request and carry out equipment demonstrations.
- Pursue sales leads from company marketing activities and other sources.
- Record all customer contact details in the Sales Force CRM system, tracking and recording all sales opportunities with relevant forecast timelines.
- Work with Customer Service to manage quotations and pricing for specific accounts and Corporate Pricing Agreements.
- Support authorized distribution channels in sales activities, acting as their main point of contact and providing commercial advice to finance as required.
- Provide support to Broad lines at the customer level as required.
- Create and implement regional programs with distributors to gain market share.
- Work with the Senior RSM for IME and Finance to lead all decisions regarding the termination or appointment of Channel partners in the region.
- Ensure distribution sales staff are correctly trained by providing training directly or through another department.
- Work with Global accounts to gain Approved Vendor List (AVL) status where appropriate.
- Support Alpha and Beta trials and provide feedback to product management.
- Attend trade exhibitions and manage the company's presence at such shows as required.
- Monitor competitive activities and report as appropriate.
- Provide a monthly expenses report and ensure all expenses are met.
- Provide a monthly report to the Global Sales Director, tracking key opportunities, specifically with capital equipment.
- Maintain a suitable vehicle financed through a Car Allowance.
- Ensure the company laptop and phone are maintained, along with any other tools provided.
What We're Looking For
- Computer skills required for reporting, PowerPoint presentations, pricing, and data management, including proficiency in MS-Word, MS-Excel, and MS-Outlook.
- Established relationships and contacts within the industry.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with various management levels.
- Spoken and written English to a good level.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven background in delivering proposals and negotiating deals with corporate management.
- Full Driving License.
- Ability to evaluate the market and provide advice or direction to product management and engineering.
Nice to Have
- A background in Electronics assembly and/or sales.
- Fluency in a second language, dependent upon the assigned region.
- Ability to balance and determine when accounts should be serviced through distribution or directly.
- HNC/HND/Degree preferably in an Engineering discipline or Business Management.
