Woolpert is hiring a Business Development Director to lead growth in our Geospatial Utilities Market, focusing on the oil, gas, and pipeline sectors. You will combine business development, client engagement, and team leadership to drive innovation and deliver impactful solutions.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement growth strategies in collaboration with internal teams.
- Manage contract development and the negotiations process with new and existing large, complex clients.
- Understand financial models and data analytics to assess areas of growth and development of opportunities.
- Assist with budget development and provide support for new or existing growth initiatives.
- Be responsible for proactive client management, client growth and retention, and opportunity development.
- Champion growth with field personnel and through participation or leadership with technical teams.
- Actively assess and develop new growth opportunities through expansions to new clients, markets, acquisitions, and new solution offerings.
- Maintain professional working relationships with clients.
- Coordinate with other Woolpert employees to share best practices.
- Demonstrate excellence in leading cross-functional teams including project managers, technical leaders, and support staff.
- Share best practices and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Support recruitment of key talent to strengthen Woolpert’s utilities team.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years in management consulting or professional services within the energy market.
- Proven success in business development and client leadership.
- Established relationships with oil & gas exploration and production and pipeline companies.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, geospatial sciences, or related field required (or equivalent experience).
- Strategic thinking and consultative sales expertise.
- Ability to negotiate complex agreements and mitigate risk.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools.
Nice to Have
- Strong understanding of utility operations and geospatial applications.
- Prior exposure to lidar, imagery, GIS, BIM/CAD.

- Compensation range: $147,500 - $247,400 USD
