About the Role

Manulife Financial Corporation / John Hancock is looking for a Business Development Consultant - Mass Market. As an Internal Insurance Wholesaler, you will collaborate with peers and External Wholesalers to run a geographical sales region. Your focus will be evolving existing advisor relationships and cultivating new ones to promote client-centric insurance solutions and increase sales.

What You'll Do

  • Proactively interact with advisors daily to support key partners and uncover sales opportunities.
  • Lead and coordinate daily tasks optimally to achieve productivity metrics and best support advisors.
  • Handle incoming advisor inquiries, including case consultations, illustration support, product queries, and training.
  • Investigate proactive sales opportunities using peers, external wholesalers, tools, resources, data, and analytics.
  • Use Salesforce.com to create and maintain advisor profiles and data on current and proposed activity.
  • Collaborate with peers from other teams, departments, and territories to share business leads and ideas.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 2 years of insurance or sales experience.
  • College or University degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including an intermediate level of experience using Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Well-organized, self-starter with high energy and creativity.
  • Innovative marketing and problem-solving skills.
  • Excels in a collaborative and complicated environment with a strong desire to win.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • LLQP designation preferred (or in process).

Team & Environment

You will work with peers and External Wholesalers to run a geographical sales region. This role is part of the Manulife Insurance Sales team within the Mass Market Markets business unit, reporting to the Director, Inside Insurance Sales.
