We are seeking a Business Developer Specialist to support expansion efforts in either Houston or San Antonio. In this role, you will focus on cultivating strong relationships with independent brokers and agency partners, identifying pathways to grow our presence in key industry segments, particularly within the transportation and specialty insurance markets.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and maintain contact with new and existing broker partners to promote service capabilities
- Analyze market trends and customer needs to uncover potential business opportunities
- Collaborate with underwriting and operations teams to align offerings with client demands
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking functions
- Prepare reports on market activity, pipeline development, and regional performance metrics
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within insurance or a related field
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, particularly in transportation risk
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage regional travel
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; professional insurance designations are a plus
