As a Business Banking Senior Relationship Manager I, you will lead a portfolio of small business clients, focusing on building long-term relationships and delivering customized banking solutions. Your primary responsibility is to grow revenue by acquiring new clients and deepening ties with existing ones, while ensuring sound credit practices and risk management.
What You'll Do
- Originate new loan and deposit relationships and expand business with current clients
- Assess financial statements and tax returns to evaluate creditworthiness and structure appropriate loan terms
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to negotiate terms that balance profitability and risk
- Partner with branch teams to identify cross-selling opportunities across banking products, including cash management and merchant services
- Engage with professional networks such as accountants and attorneys to generate referrals
- Meet or exceed annual targets for revenue, loan volume, and deposit growth
- Participate in sales initiatives and maintain consistent outreach to prospects and clients
- Take an active role in community organizations to strengthen local business connections
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- Minimum of five years of experience in commercial banking or business lending
- Proven ability to interpret financial data and assess credit risk
- Familiarity with business banking products, including trade services and merchant solutions
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present confidently to clients
- Proficiency with standard business software and banking systems
- Self-driven with a track record of meeting performance goals
Benefits
Employees receive fair and competitive compensation aligned with market standards. The base salary range for this role is $103,000 to $171,600 per year, commensurate with experience and performance.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position based in Buffalo, New York. Regular in-person presence is expected to support client engagement and team collaboration.
