This role is central to a major platform modernization initiative, based in Tokyo and working directly with a Japanese client. As the Business Analyst, you will gather, analyze, and formalize business needs, ensuring they are accurately captured and communicated to development and testing teams. Fluency in both Japanese and English is essential, as you will produce and maintain bilingual documentation and lead discussions with stakeholders in both languages.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and reviews to collect and validate business requirements
- Translate stakeholder input into structured epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Define functional and non-functional specifications with clarity and precision
- Ensure full traceability from initial requirements through to testing and sign-off
- Lead requirement clarification sessions and manage evolving scope with discipline
- Support user acceptance testing, including planning, execution, and validation
- Collaborate closely with technical project leadership to align delivery with business goals
- Provide ongoing support during development by answering questions and refining details
Qualifications
You bring 5–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise software environments, with a proven ability to document complex systems and manage requirements across teams. Native or fluent Japanese and strong business-level English (B2 or higher) are required. JLPT N1 is a preferred credential.
