Penn State Information Technology is looking for a Business Analyst to join our team focused on custom application and web development solutions. This strategic role reports to the Business Analysis Manager and is ideal for a meticulous individual who thrives in a collaborative environment, working with executives, subject matter experts, and technical staff to align solutions with business objectives.
What You'll Do
- Conduct stakeholder analysis to identify impacted parties and define solution delivery effort.
- Translate business needs into actionable user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
- Facilitate requirements elicitation through interviews, workshops, surveys, and document reviews.
- Work closely with internal and external clients to ensure user-friendly and accessible interfaces.
- Partner with developers to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with business goals.
- Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Perform gap analyses and document current and future state business processes.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Support post-launch analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Business analysis experience within custom software or web development environments.
- A strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), and web technologies.
- Proficiency in project management tools.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with requirements writing and technical documentation.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with change control processes and quality assurance testing.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and responsive design principles.
- Basic understanding of data modeling or SQL.

- Compensation: $68,200.00 - $102,300.00
