Responsibilities
- Safely operate a school bus according to established schedules, transporting students to and from homes, schools, and field trip locations as assigned
- Maintain discipline among passengers, resolve conflicts, and document or report serious behavioral incidents
- Perform daily safety and operational checks on the assigned vehicle before and after use
- Supervise student boarding and exiting, confirm authorized release of students, and ensure seat belts are used in passenger vans
- Keep accurate records of mileage, routes, maintenance needs, and time schedules
- Communicate promptly with relevant parties about delays or changes to scheduled routes
- Ensure all required credentials—including CDL, medical certification, and Region One compliance—are current per DOT and organizational standards
- Maintain regular communication with campus leadership and transportation coordinators
- Accept both positive and constructive feedback professionally and use it to grow
- Engage in self-evaluation to identify areas for personal and operational improvement
- Adapt quickly to changing conditions while managing multiple responsibilities
- Manage several tasks efficiently within strict timeframes
- Be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other non-traditional hours as needed
- Work a minimum of 32 hours per week, not including additional duties related to extracurricular events
- Be prepared to work extended shifts when necessary to meet operational demands

Compensation
Hourly pay ranges from $25.00 for entry-level experience to $28.75, with eligibility for performance-based bonuses tied to team results and goal achievement.
