Martin-Martin Inc is hiring a Building Envelope Consultant to join our Building Enclosure team in Denver, Colorado. This architect or engineering role involves developing building enclosure designs and conducting forensic evaluations across a broad range of project types. The position offers a balance of in-office design time with on-site field investigation and includes travel primarily within the Rocky Mountain Region.
What You'll Do
- Conduct forensic investigations of existing building enclosure systems.
- Produce construction drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Develop building enclosure designs.
- Perform field investigations and non-destructive testing.
- Conduct hygrothermal analysis.
- Develop repair documents and provide construction administration services.
- Coordinate and perform investigations and designs with in-house staff and clients.
- Communicate schedule and technical information to clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Manage your own work and that of others on assigned projects.
- Develop and follow project-specific safety and QA/QC plans.
- Assemble construction drawings.
- Write and edit specifications.
- Write technical reports.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in either Engineering or Architecture.
- Demonstrated creativity and technical ability consistent with the essential duties.
Nice to Have
- A minimum of 4 years of experience working as an architect or engineer with the ability to become licensed within 2 years.
- Developed skills to investigate, analyze, design, coordinate, model, and document projects.
- Knowledge of hygrothermal modeling techniques.
- A strong understanding of architectural and waterproofing systems for common building types.
- The ability to plan daily work and communicate effectively to accomplish projects.
- Ability to travel for site visits, primarily local to Denver and occasionally out-of-state.
- Able to produce projects on or under the established project budget.
- Self-motivated to create production enhancements for the company.
- Demonstrates skill and positive attitude in completing difficult assignments.
- Demonstrates strong commitment to continued professional growth.
- Demonstrates a proficiency to solve complex problems with limited direction.
- Demonstrates a willingness to take on additional work and responsibility.
