M&T Bank is seeking a Branch Manager to lead a team and manage all branch activities. You will be responsible for the overall success of the branch operating model, including customer and employee experience, digital engagement, and business development. This role includes personal production responsibility for driving branch performance.

What You'll Do

Drive overall branch profitability by directing sales and business development, meeting operational objectives, and achieving annual goals.
Lead and develop branch staff through coaching, performance management, and priority setting.
Identify Retail and Business Banking customer needs using the M&T sales process to provide short and long-term solutions.
Proactively prospect and grow Business Banking relationships through community outreach to build the bank’s presence.
Conduct interviews and select employees based on the staffing model.
Model and coach exceptional customer service behaviors and maintain accountability for Retail strategy execution.
Ensure operational requirements and compliance with consumer and business banking guidelines, security policies, and control procedures to prevent fraud.
Take ownership of complex account servicing and error resolution issues, including escalations, and provide coaching to reduce future problems.
Engage with all team members and business partners as appropriate.
Independently process all Business Banking loan requests up to $100,000 and proactively bundle products and services.
Adhere to applicable compliance and operational risk controls per Company and regulatory standards.
Promote an environment that supports a culture of belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and regulatory issues.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Exercise usual managerial authority concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s degree, OR, in lieu of degree, four (4) years’ relevant experience.
Minimum three years sales experience.
Minimum two years’ managerial experience or proven leadership abilities.
At Market Manager discretion/branch need, Life/Accident and Health Insurance licensing required within 18 months of entry.
M&T Business Banking Specialist certification within 18 months of hire.
Demonstrated strong knowledge of Business Banking products, services, and client relationship management.
M&T Way Certified.
Precision Leadership Certified.
Proficiency with common PC software, including Microsoft Office for word processing and spreadsheets.
Experience with Internet and email.

Nice to Have

Bi-lingual/Spanish proficiency.
Demonstrated sales/business development experience and success with a fundamental understanding of profitability.
