Scarpel Telecom is hiring a Bookkeeping Specialist to join our Professional Services department. In this role, you will serve as a full-charge bookkeeper for moderately complex Medium customers, ensuring the accuracy and currency of financial records while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
What You'll Do
- Manage the full cycle of bookkeeping services for multiple Medium customers concurrently, including data entry, reconciliations, payroll, donations, and periodic accounting clean-up.
- Maintain a high customer net promoter score (9 or 10) by building positive relationships, communicating proactively, and providing quality services.
- Deliver an average billable utilization of 70%.
- Understand organizational needs, provide valuable feedback, and propose solutions to enhance information clarity.
- Adhere to established processes to ensure robust financial controls are in place.
- Identify areas for process improvement and actively participate in collaborative knowledge-sharing with teammates.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of experience in full-charge bookkeeping.
- A degree in accounting, finance, or business.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and nonprofit bookkeeping practices.
- Great knowledge and experience with Aplos or other accounting software.
- Proficient computer skills, with a strong command of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently with strict deadlines.
- Proven experience working in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $22/hr for US candidates and $50,000 - $60,000 for Canadian candidates.
- Paid Time Off: Canada: 4 weeks plus 11 public holidays, plus an extra 2-week company holiday; US: open or paid discretionary time off plus 11 public holidays, plus an extra 2-week company holiday.
