Gate is looking for a Blockchain Development Engineer to advance our blockchain technology stack. You will be responsible for both upper-layer smart contract development and lower-layer infrastructure development and optimization based on Polkadot Substrate. Your work will directly contribute to the design and implementation of public chain core modules.

What You'll Do

Design, develop, and deploy secure and efficient smart contracts on platforms like Solana, Tron, TON, and Sui.
Optimize performance and conduct security audits on existing smart contracts.
Design and develop the public chain underlying architecture using Polkadot Substrate.
Develop and optimize core blockchain modules, including the consensus, network, storage layers, and virtual machine.
Participate in technical solution reviews and write technical documentation.
Track cutting-edge blockchain technologies and drive innovation.

What We're Looking For

Proficiency in one or more smart contract languages like Solidity, Rust (Solana), FunC (TON), or Move (Sui).
Familiarity with smart contract development on at least one blockchain, including deployment, invocation, and debugging.
3+ years of Rust development experience, with a deep understanding of its memory model, concurrency, and asynchronous programming.
Deep understanding of blockchain core principles, including consensus algorithms (Tendermint, GRANDPA, BABE, HotStuff, PBFT), P2P networks, state machines, Merkle Trees, and cryptography.
Knowledge of mechanisms like transaction pools, block validation, and state synchronization.
Familiarity with blockchain security mechanisms and common attack methods.
Solid computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and network protocols.
Good code standards and engineering capabilities.

Nice to Have

Practical development experience with Polkadot Substrate, having completed a chain's development or deep customization.
Participation in the development of well-known public chain projects like Cosmos, Polkadot, Ethereum, or Solana.
Deep understanding of cross-chain protocols like Cosmos IBC or Substrate XCMP.
Familiarity with smart contract languages like Move, Solidity, or CosmWasm.
Understanding of cutting-edge technologies like MEV, zero-knowledge proofs, or Layer2.
Contributions to open-source blockchain projects.
Experience in distributed systems or high-performance system development.
Published blockchain-related technical articles or research papers.
