Responsibilities
- Configure and run auxiliary binding equipment with multiple cutting heads, controls, or add-ons such as inkjet units, mailing systems, case makers, folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, and binding or gluing devices
- Set up multi-function automated bindery systems with several processing stations, including power cutters, collators, gatherers, folders, and high-speed binders
- Integrate electromechanical components to form a complete finishing line that transforms printed sheets into finished products like books, catalogs, manuals, directories, or magazines
- Conduct safety inspections of machinery before and during operation
- Operate automatic perfect binding machines that process collated sheets or signatures through stages including vibration, milling, roughening, adhesive application, covering, and stacking
- Adjust and synchronize multiple workstations within a single machine to ensure seamless operation
- Lead production crew through all stages of bindery output
