Responsibilities
- Define, execute, and sustain a company-wide BIM strategy centered on strong Revit standards and workflows for civil structural projects.
- Promote and guide the use of BIM tools across civil engineering teams, ensuring smooth integration between Revit and complementary platforms such as Civil 3D.
- Set up and oversee a centralized Common Data Environment (CDE) where Revit models serve as the core source of project information.
- Manage end-to-end BIM processes for multiple civil structures projects, ensuring Revit models are correctly developed and maintained from design through construction and as-built phases.
- Create and maintain project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), outlining Revit modeling protocols, Level of Development (LOD) expectations, and team collaboration methods.
- Lead cross-discipline coordination using integrated models, with emphasis on structural Revit models as authoritative references.
- Organize and lead clash detection sessions using Navisworks to resolve conflicts between Revit models and other engineering disciplines.
- Act as the primary technical resource for Revit Structure, offering expert troubleshooting and advanced support to project teams.
- Build and maintain a standardized library of Revit families tailored to civil structural components such as bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and foundations.
- Provide technical support for key software including Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, and InfraWorks, ensuring seamless data exchange with Revit.
- Coach engineering teams on effective Revit modeling practices, work-sharing setups, and data organization.
- Supervise and develop BIM coordinators and modelers, with a focus on strengthening their Revit capabilities.
- Design and deliver targeted training programs to improve Revit skills across civil engineering staff, from foundational to advanced levels.
- Encourage a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge transfer related to Revit and digital engineering advancements.
- Ensure all BIM outputs, particularly Revit models, meet defined standards for precision, completeness, and quality.
- Perform frequent, detailed quality assurance checks on Revit models and related documentation.
- Stay informed about new Revit releases, compatible add-ins, and emerging BIM practices, including compliance with ISO 19650.
- Work with stakeholders to understand project goals, technical specs, and design requirements.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and mechanical engineers to incorporate utilities, power systems, and infrastructure into structural designs.
- Produce 2D and 3D layout drawings and supporting documents to convey design intent and implementation details.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment and smooth project delivery.
- Review existing facility layouts periodically to identify improvements for efficiency, cost savings, and performance.
- Keep current with industry developments, new technologies, and best practices in facility layout and material handling.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
