Parsons Transportation Group is looking for a Billing Manager to lead a team within our billing department. This role ensures efficient daily operations by managing staff, workflow, and billing processes, acting as the point of contact for billing concerns.
What You'll Do
- Guide and manage a billing team involved with daily operations.
- Supervise onsite and/or remote staffing and workflow needs.
- Provide HR-related guidance to billing team members and complete annual reviews.
- Assist with managing electronic billing submission portals and resolving rejections or short payments.
- Interface directly with business and operations teams as the initial point of contact for billing concerns.
- Collaborate with IT team members to review, develop, and address system issues.
- Prepare, distribute, revise, and coordinate the billing approval process, finalizing invoices for all contract types.
- Assist the Client Support Team with resolving billing issues to improve accounts receivable collections.
- Establish procedures, routines, and documentation regarding billing and contract maintenance.
- Troubleshoot billing errors, reconciling differences between billed and cost amounts.
- Identify improvements that streamline the billing process while following corporate compliance practices.
- Oversee unbilled cost reviews for lower-level Billing Coordinators.
What We're Looking For
- Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Business-related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 8+ years of related billing experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Advanced knowledge of organizational budget best practices and policies.
- Advanced knowledge of contract provisions regarding client invoicing requirements and payment processes.
- Ability to guide and lead a team to success.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret financial data and recognize trends and patterns.
- Ability to understand complex budgets and client invoicing.
- Advanced math skills.
- Effective strategic and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of billing-related systems and methods to complete daily tasks and improve processes.
- Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to stay abreast of emerging related technology.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
