About the Role
This role is responsible for managing the full cycle of billing and collections, including invoice generation, payment tracking, customer communication, and resolving account discrepancies to maintain strong cash flow.
Responsibilities
- Generate and distribute accurate invoices to clients on a timely basis
- Monitor accounts for overdue payments and initiate follow-up procedures
- Communicate professionally with clients to resolve billing disputes
- Track and record all payments received, applying them to correct accounts
- Maintain up-to-date accounts receivable records in the financial system
- Produce regular reports on collections status and aging accounts
- Identify and escalate unresolved collection issues according to policy
- Collaborate with customer service and sales teams on account concerns
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and audit requirements
- Assist in month-end and quarter-end closing processes
- Review contracts to confirm billing terms and schedules
- Process adjustments, credits, and refunds as needed
- Follow up on partial payments and payment plan agreements
- Use accounting software to manage customer accounts efficiently
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial data
- Support internal audits by providing documentation and records
- Identify process improvements in billing and collections workflows
- Respond to client inquiries about account balances and charges
- Verify billing information with clients when discrepancies arise
- Coordinate with IT and finance teams on system updates affecting billing
