Biffa is looking for a Bid Development Manager to join our Municipal division. In this nationwide, home-based role, you will manage and support team members on tenders for new business and identify and implement commercial opportunities to develop our existing portfolio.
What You'll Do
- Project manage tenders for new business, including on-the-ground investigations, pricing and modelling, commercial proposals, and presentations for internal sign-off.
- Liaise with partners and sub-contractors and write method statements.
- Prepare and deliver verbal presentations to prospective and existing clients.
- Keep up-to-date with new technologies, innovations, and legislative developments through active research and building industry contacts.
- Develop sector contacts, primarily through consultants, to stay informed on current and future new business projects.
- Attend regional meetings to stay updated on existing contracts, identify development opportunities, and build relationships with business managers.
- Provide development and contractual support to regional managers, ensuring variation orders and service proposals follow corporate guidelines and are signed off appropriately.
- Support the development director on specific projects as requested.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience working in a tendering, bidding, or pricing environment.
- A track record of delivering written submissions that win bids.
- Knowledge of local authority and public sector tendering processes.
Team & Environment
You'll be part of the Municipal division, working closely with regional managers and reporting directly to the development director.
Work Mode
This is a home-based position with a nationwide scope, allowing you to work flexibly across the UK.
