Role Overview
This position is responsible for overseeing employee benefits and leave programs globally, ensuring accurate administration and compliance across medical, dental, vision, retirement, and supplemental plans. The role supports employees in a hybrid, remote-first environment and works closely with payroll, HR systems, and external partners to maintain seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee enrollment and ongoing management of benefits across more than 15 vendors for U.S. and international employees, including manual processing for global entities.
- Administer leave programs worldwide, including FMLA, parental leave, state-mandated leaves, and international equivalents, coordinating with third-party administrators like Tilt.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. regulations such as ERISA, ACA, and FMLA, and support audits, 5500 filings, and required disclosures.
- Collaborate on annual benefits renewals, Open Enrollment, and new vendor implementations.
- Reconcile payroll deductions, fringe benefits, and leave-related payments, resolving discrepancies between system data and plan rules.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Workday configurations in partnership with the People Systems team.
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy and support timely payments.
- Manage workplace accommodations in line with company policy and local legal requirements.
- Act as the main contact for sensitive employee inquiries and escalated cases, providing clear, compliant guidance.
- Support continuous improvement by updating documentation and refining processes to enhance the employee experience.
Qualifications
- Minimum of four years of experience in employee benefits administration, with direct involvement in managing complex leave programs.
- Familiarity with U.S. compliance frameworks including FMLA, ERISA, and ACA.
- Proven experience using Workday for benefits administration.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and experience reconciling payroll, invoices, and enrollment data.
- Preferred experience with multi-state or international leave programs.
Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid model, with team members expected to live within commuting distance of New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Seattle. Flexibility to work remotely or from office hubs is supported.
