Alvarado Parkway Institute is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will provide quality case management and psychotherapeutic services to adult psychiatric patients within our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), serving as a vital member of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to supporting our treatment philosophy and community mental health.
What You'll Do
- Conduct psycho-social and other required assessments to document patient history and identify treatment focus.
- Develop treatment plans and self-harm intervention plans based on physician orders, patient data, and team recommendations.
- Provide individual and group psychotherapy, psychoeducation, family counseling, and crisis intervention as needed.
- Establish and maintain rapport to foster intra- and inter-departmental communication for quality patient care.
- Attend regular treatment team meetings to provide the Behavioral Health Therapist perspective for total case management.
- Complete all mandatory third-party notifications per organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Provide appropriate referrals and assist in completing assessments for patient transitions between levels of care.
- Participate in activities that enhance professional growth and development.
- Display cultural sensitivity in interactions with patients and staff.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree in social work, MFT, psychology, or an equivalent master’s degree in a recognized mental health field.
- Must be license-eligible, with registration/license from the Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology required.
- Knowledge of acute adult psychological disorders, advanced principles of abnormal psychology, and related regulatory compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of computer software applications.
- Skills in case management, time management, crisis intervention, and conducting individual and group psychotherapy.
- Ability to maintain highly confidential information and clearly summarize clinical information via written correspondence and medical records.
- Ability to work effectively, collaborate within a team environment, and problem-solve.

Work Mode
This position requires onsite work at our La Mesa, California location.
