Alvarado Parkway Institute is hiring a Behavioral Health Therapist to join our mission of improving community mental health and well-being. In this role, you will provide quality case management and psychotherapeutic services to adult psychiatric patients within our Intensive Outpatient/Partial Hospitalization Program, serving as a key member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
What You'll Do
- Develop treatment plans and self-harm intervention plans.
- Conduct psycho-social and other required assessments.
- Establish and maintain rapport to foster communication for quality patient care.
- Provide individual and group psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and family counseling.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Develop and coordinate individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient data.
- Attend regular treatment team meetings to provide perspective on case management.
- Complete all mandatory third-party notifications per organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Display cultural sensitivity regarding patients and staff.
- Provide appropriate referrals to inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
- Participate in activities that enhance professional growth and development.
What We're Looking For
- A Master’s degree in social work, MFT, psychology, or an equivalent master’s degree in a recognized mental health field.
- Must be licensed eligible.
- Registration/license with the Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology is required.
- Knowledge of acute adult psychological disorders and advanced principles of abnormal psychology.
- Knowledge of related regulatory compliance and reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of computer software applications.
- Skills in case management, time management, and crisis intervention.
- Skills in conducting individual and group psychotherapy.
- Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation.
- Ability to work effectively and collaborate with others within a team environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience in an outpatient or inpatient setting.
Team & Environment
You will work as a member of an interdisciplinary team supporting the organization’s treatment program and philosophy.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position located in La Mesa, California.
