About the Role
The consultant will evaluate client needs, design behavior intervention plans, and provide guidance to caregivers and support personnel to ensure effective implementation and progress monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of client behavior and environmental factors
- Develop individualized treatment strategies based on assessment findings
- Train caregivers and support staff in behavior management techniques
- Monitor client progress and adjust plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of sessions and outcomes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support client goals
- Provide feedback to families and guardians on client development
- Ensure all interventions comply with ethical and regulatory standards
- Participate in regular supervision and professional development activities
- Respond to behavioral emergencies with appropriate de-escalation methods
- Coordinate services across home, school, and community settings
- Use data collection to inform treatment decisions
- Communicate effectively with referral sources and external agencies
- Support transition planning for clients moving between care levels
- Promote skill acquisition in communication, social interaction, and daily living
- Address challenging behaviors with evidence-based practices
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Adapt strategies to meet diverse cultural and developmental needs
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Attend client meetings and case reviews as required
Nice to Have
- Experience with pediatric populations
- Training in trauma-informed care
- Experience in school-based programs
- Familiarity with IEP processes
- Additional certification in mental health counseling
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish
- Experience with telehealth service delivery
- Knowledge of Medicaid billing requirements
- Leadership experience in clinical settings
- Published work or presentations in behavior science
