Responsibilities
- Engage with municipal and government representatives to coordinate infrastructure projects involving roads and utilities, with travel necessary and mileage compensation provided.
- Identify and map existing network facilities in collaboration with project managers and public engineers to assess project effects.
- Coordinate with external utility providers to create relocation strategies that reduce interference and prevent project delays.
- Perform field assessments and design work for outside plant build-as-used projects, including residential developments, service upgrades, road modifications, and fiber deployments.
- Maintain accurate records and update engineering data in project management and design systems such as FROGS, CAD, Varasset, and SiteTracker.
- Liaise with power and telecom entities to manage pole-related work, including make-ready tasks, pole replacements, and service adjustments.
- Secure required permits from federal, state, and local agencies including departments of transportation, natural resources, rail authorities, and pipeline operators.
- Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure construction is completed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
- Respond to plant damage incidents by evaluating repair needs, adjusting cable inventories, and managing associated capital work.
- Perform on-site evaluations and design solutions for cellular tower infrastructure projects.
- Assist field and central office personnel by diagnosing and resolving issues raised through public utility commission complaints.
- Partner with contract engineering teams to align project execution with business objectives and client requirements.
