VetsEZ is hiring an AWS Workspaces Engineer (Remote Opportunity)

VetsEZ is looking for an AWS Workspaces Engineer to join our team supporting the HIE Analytics program. In this role, you will apply your hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating Amazon WorkSpaces within a VA-managed cloud environment, focusing on platform implementation, lifecycle management, performance optimization, and operational stability.

What You'll Do

• Deploy and manage Amazon WorkSpaces environments.
• Configure and maintain directory integration using AD Connector or AWS Managed AD.
• Create, maintain, and version golden images.
• Manage bundle selection and optimization.
• Support WorkSpaces pools as applicable.
• Implement lifecycle management for provisioning, rebuild, restore, and decommissioning.
• Monitor WorkSpaces performance and user experience.
• Troubleshoot latency, login, and connectivity issues.
• Optimize resource allocation and right-size instances.
• Support patching and image updates.
• Implement repeatable deployments using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Automate image builds and updates where feasible.
• Document configurations, deployment patterns, and maintain configuration documentation.
• Support incident resolution related to WorkSpaces and collaborate with VAEC for escalations.
• Support audit and compliance evidence gathering.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on Amazon WorkSpaces deployment and operations.
• Experience with directory integration (AD Connector / AWS Managed AD).
• Proven skill in golden image lifecycle management.
• Experience with WorkSpaces bundle performance tuning.
• A strong troubleshooting and operational mindset.
• Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

Nice to Have

• Experience in VA or other federal cloud environments.
• Experience supporting analytics or data workloads.
• AWS Associate certification (Solutions Architect or SysOps preferred).
• Familiarity with endpoint management strategies.
