As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will lead critical cloud infrastructure initiatives centered on Kubernetes, supporting the full lifecycle of software and data products. Your work will directly impact global enterprise systems through cloud migration, modernization, and operational excellence. You'll design and implement scalable solutions, troubleshoot complex production issues, and ensure long-term system reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive development and operations across the full product lifecycle, from planning and design to deployment and monitoring
- Design and manage Kubernetes-based applications using Helm charts and EKS on AWS
- Diagnose and resolve system-level issues across Linux nodes and kernel environments
- Support cloud migration of data platforms including Solr, Aerospike, and other enterprise data stores
- Implement hybrid cloud architectures connecting on-premise and AWS environments
- Apply GitOps and infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK
- Automate CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab, Harness, or Ansible
- Monitor system performance and reliability using observability platforms such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Splunk, or Honeycomb
- Document technical designs clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborate with engineering teams to share knowledge and improve system-wide practices
- Provide technical estimates and feasibility assessments for new features and infrastructure changes
Qualifications
You bring at least six years of engineering experience, including significant time in DevOps or systems engineering roles. You have deep hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes, particularly EKS, and are proficient in Linux system administration. You are experienced in cloud architecture patterns, automated testing, and continuous integration. An AWS Associate-level certification is required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire. A technical bachelor's degree is preferred, though equivalent experience may be considered.
Work Environment
This role is remote-first, with the requirement to live within 100 miles of Alexandria, VA or Philadelphia, PA to support in-person meetings, interviews, and team collaboration when needed. We maintain a flexible schedule and have supported remote work since 2010. Compensation
Base salary range: $145,000 – $175,000. Eligible for annual bonus based on individual performance and company results. No equity offered.
