Position: Senior Cloud Database Administrator (IVR & Analytics Platform)

The Senior Cloud Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of cloud-based databases supporting a mission-critical IVR and Analytics platform. This role involves close collaboration with engineering, DevOps, and data teams to maintain high availability, optimize performance for transactional and analytics workloads, and support large-scale production environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer Amazon Aurora MySQL (OLTP) and Amazon Redshift (OLAP)
  • Manage full database lifecycle including provisioning, configuration, patching, and upgrades
  • Ensure high availability, backup/recovery, and disaster resilience
  • Configure alerts, logging, and proactive health monitoring
  • Monitor and optimize performance for high-throughput transactional and analytics workloads
  • Support production databases with on-call and incident response
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Manage user roles, permissions, and role-based access control (RBAC)
  • Ensure compliance with data security and audit requirements
  • Support databases used by application services, ETL pipelines, and BI/reporting tools
  • Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams on schema design, infrastructure changes, and automation
  • Automate operational tasks using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Cloud DBA or Database Administrator
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Aurora MySQL and Amazon Redshift
  • Strong AWS cloud database experience
  • Proven knowledge of high availability, backup & recovery, and performance tuning
  • Experience with Linux/Unix and shell scripting
  • Experience supporting high-volume, mission-critical systems
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
  • Willingness to participate in on-call support
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in IVR or contact center environments
  • Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data warehousing
  • Experience with event-driven or analytics-heavy systems
