Job Summary The Senior Auditor leads assigned audit areas and oversees day-to-day engagement execution while supervising and developing junior team members. This role serves as a key liaison between audit staff and management, ensuring audit quality, efficiency, and adherence to professional standards. Essential Functions • Lead and execute complex audit areas in accordance with firm methodology • Review workpapers prepared by audit staff and interns for accuracy and completeness • Supervise, coach, and provide feedback to junior team members • Identify audit issues, perform advanced analysis, and propose resolutions • Communicate engagement progress, risks, and findings to audit management • Coordinate client requests, walkthroughs, and audit timelines Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field • CPA license or active progress toward CPA licensure • Strong knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards • Experience leading audit areas and supervising staff • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and audit software Preferred Qualifications • Public accounting experience with mid-market or public company clients • Experience with complex accounting areas (revenue recognition, leases, equity, etc.) Physical & Cognitive Demands • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally • Ability to analyze complex data, exercise professional judgment, and manage multiple priorities Work Environment Including Travel • On-Site • Travel to client locations as needed (up to 30%) • Moderate noise level typical of a professional office environment Who We Are At Mellott & Mellott, we combine the depth and sophistication of a leading advisory firm with the culture of a long-standing family business.
