Role Overview
As an Audio Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining high-quality audio throughout all stages of production. Your work will directly impact live shows, sports broadcasts, recorded programs, and digital content, ensuring every audio element meets technical and creative standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate digital audio consoles during live events, studio sessions, and remote productions
- Set up and manage microphones, wireless systems, IFBs, intercoms, and monitoring equipment
- Adjust gain, EQ, compression, and levels to maintain clarity across voices, music, and effects
- Route audio signals through physical and networked systems, including NDI and digital patch bays
- Conduct sound checks and technical rehearsals to verify signal integrity
- Monitor audio feeds for remote contributors and external sources
- Ensure compliance with loudness standards, phase alignment, and video sync
- Respond swiftly to audio issues such as feedback, dropouts, or interference during live broadcasts
- Collaborate with production teams to follow rundowns and execute audio cues accurately
- Support field operations with portable recording gear, mixers, and wireless kits
- Maintain equipment inventories, cables, and system configurations
- Document audio setups, label channels, and suggest workflow improvements
- Work alongside engineering, video, and graphics teams to integrate audio into final outputs
- Assist digital teams with proper audio routing and levels for online distribution
Qualifications
- Formal training or degree in Audio Engineering, Broadcasting, or a related technical field
- Proven experience with live audio production in television, streaming, or event environments
- Hands-on familiarity with digital consoles such as Yamaha, Behringer, or Avid
- Working knowledge of microphones, wireless systems, intercoms, and monitoring setups
- Understanding of audio routing, signal flow, and broadcast-level technical standards
- Ability to diagnose and fix audio problems quickly under time-sensitive conditions
- Strong focus on detail and exceptional auditory precision
- Fluency in English for technical documentation and system configuration
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with production and technical teams
- Calm demeanor and sharp focus during high-pressure live broadcasts
- Organized, proactive approach to managing equipment and workflows
- Comfort multitasking in fast-moving, deadline-driven environments
Preferred Skills
- Experience with NDI, Dante, or SDI audio embedding and de-embedding
Work Environment
This is an onsite position located in São Paulo City, hosted in a modern production facility equipped for live broadcasting and digital content creation. The role operates under a B2B contractor agreement.
