Ball Corporation is looking for an Attorney to join its legal team. In this role, you will provide strategic and proactive legal advice to support the key objectives of the Ball Beverage Packaging business in EMEA. You will deliver high-quality commercial and general legal counsel across a broad range of subjects, working with major customers and suppliers in multiple jurisdictions and supporting the global compliance program.
What You'll Do
- Draft and negotiate complex, high-value/high-risk customer agreements with Global Key Account and regional customers across multiple jurisdictions and cultures.
- Draft and negotiate high-value international procurement contracts with key global and regional suppliers.
- Advise the business on aspects of EU and National Competition Law, particularly regarding customer agreements and industry work.
- Manage litigation affecting the business.
- Support the business with intellectual property law advice.
- Provide legal advice to Treasury, Finance, Tax, HR, and IT teams located in the region, as required.
- Ensure the region’s compliance with Global and EU Data Protection requirements (GDPR).
- Develop relationships with the network of EMEA plants and functional teams, ensuring legal support is provided.
- Drive Ball Corporation compliance activities and provide internal training in accordance with annual compliance plans.
- Advise the Sustainability team on strategic lobbying and legislative compliance activities.
- Act as an ambassador for Ball’s Diversity and Inclusion objectives.
- Provide project management and legal representation on steering committees, as required.
What We're Looking For
- UK qualified solicitor or barrister (or overseas equivalent).
- Post-qualification experience.
- Commercial law experience is essential.
- Experience reviewing and managing high-value/high-risk commercial agreements with an international element.
- Familiarity with working across multiple jurisdictions.
- Demonstrable experience providing relevant legal advice in a business setting to deliver key strategic objectives.
- Financial understanding of the impacts of legal decisions.
- Fluent English language skills.
Nice to Have
- Preferably at least several years of in-house experience.
Team & Environment
You will work closely with other in-house lawyers within the region (and globally) and also with the existing network of external counsel.
