Role Overview
As the Atlassian Migration Lead, you will drive the consolidation of multiple on-premise Atlassian Data Center instances into a single, scalable Cloud platform. This role combines technical leadership with practical execution, guiding the migration lifecycle from discovery through to stabilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Orchestrate the full migration process from Atlassian Data Center to Cloud, aligning technical teams and business stakeholders
- Conduct in-depth assessments of current environments to inform migration strategy and risk planning
- Execute data migration for Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management with precision and minimal disruption
- Validate data accuracy and system functionality before and after migration events
- Streamline configurations, workflows, and custom field structures to align with Cloud best practices
- Manage the transition of third-party apps from the Atlassian Marketplace, ensuring compatibility and integration integrity
- Support teams during testing cycles and provide guidance during post-migration stabilization
- Maintain governance standards and documentation throughout the transformation
Required Expertise
- Proven experience administering Atlassian platforms, particularly in enterprise-scale environments
- Hands-on track record in migrating Atlassian instances from Data Center to Cloud
- Strong understanding of migration challenges, including data mapping, user permissions, and system dependencies
- Ability to lead technical initiatives while remaining engaged in detailed implementation tasks
- Familiarity with Jira workflows, Confluence spaces, and JSM service request configurations
