Join EY as an Assurance Audit Manager, where you will be the primary GDS contact for tasks assigned by our global client serving assurance teams. You will ensure the timeliness and quality of deliverables while managing the day-to-day operations of these engagements. This role provides a significant opportunity to work virtually or directly with teams across the Americas and Europe and deepen your knowledge of international accounting and assurance principles.
What You'll Do
- Support a portfolio of engagements by leading a team of Assistant Managers, Seniors, and Associates.
- Ensure the team delivers timely, high-quality work per EY methodology and engagement team expectations.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of EY methodology and support quality projects like pre-issuance reviews.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with key engagement team counterparts, such as Assurance executives based in the Americas or Europe.
- Embed EY Risk Management procedures into the engagement team's work.
- Work closely with the engagement team to transition new engagements and services to GDS Assurance.
- Proactively manage workflow, allocate resources, monitor performance against standards, and track utilization and budgets.
- Communicate with professionalism, competence, and clarity to GDS and engagement teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve the scope of work for GDS Assurance.
- Standardize assurance processes and leverage best practices across aligned engagements.
- Help team members grow by encouraging active contribution and lead by example.
- Delegate work successfully, conduct timely performance reviews, and provide feedback and training.
- Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge, and enhance service delivery.
- Contribute to technical and soft-skills training to develop the team.
- Actively participate in organizational initiatives like recruitment, diversity and inclusiveness, and trainings.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI) with 5-6 years of post-qualification relevant experience.
- Qualified ACCA / CPA with 7-8 years of post-qualification relevant experience.
- Completed Articleship with other top or mid-tier accounting firms.
- Experience in a mid- or top-tier accounting firm, an MNC or larger Indian company in a Shared Service Environment, or Big 4 Firms.
- Expert knowledge of Indian accounting and assurance standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Effective interpersonal, risk management, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Project management, leadership, coaching, counselling, and supervisory skills.
- Ability to spread a positive work culture, demonstrate teaming, and live EY values.
- Ability to quickly form strong working relationships with colleagues in India and global teams.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of UK GAAP or US GAAP and International assurance standards.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
- An interest in business and commerciality.
