AdventHealth is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for its Dialysis/Vascular Access unit. You will support staff in delivering patient care, manage a team of direct reports, and ensure the unit adheres to regulatory standards, extending our mission to uplift others in body, mind, and spirit.
What You'll Do
- Assist staff in the full patient care process, from assessment and diagnosis to planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Perform patient assessments prior to treatment and administer medications, blood products, and other therapeutic measures as ordered.
- Clean and dress access sites and wounds using aseptic techniques and initiate emergency procedures when necessary.
- Participate in patient and family teaching regarding dialysis treatment and renal dietary recommendations.
- Consider safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice when delivering nursing services and ordering supplies.
- Complete mandatory education, attend staff meetings, and integrate research findings and evidence-based practice into care.
- Manage assigned direct reports, including recruitment, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, development, education, and performance evaluations.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance and positive employee relations.
- Foster a culture of psychological safety where team members feel supported, valued, and empowered to contribute.
- Promote evidence-based practice, quality outcomes, and a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous learning.
- Prepare the unit for audits by monitoring and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, accrediting bodies, and hospital policies.
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently to meet financial and operational goals.
What We're Looking For
- Associate's of Nursing
- 3+ years RN experience in acute inpatient dialysis upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) OR Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS)
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's of Nursing
- Medical/surgical, ICU, CCU, and ER experience
- Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN)
- Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN)
