The Associate Project Controls Consultant will manage and deliver project and programme controls for clients, focusing on budget management, cost forecasting, and capturing business and project status. This role is part of AECOM's Integrated Programme Controls team and supports project delivery across infrastructure projects with a strong emphasis on financial analysis and control.
What You'll Do
- Management and delivery of project and programme controls for clients
- Addressing actual budget and forecast costs to effectively capture the business and project status
- Supporting the business and project delivery in all aspects
- Representing cost data formats necessary to control the project
- Understanding financial terminology and measures and recognizing the financial impact of various project actions
- Participating in analysing and using financial data to identify key project issues
- Assisting in leading junior staff through assignment tasks
- Participating in tracking action items
- Using drawings and specifications in the establishment of project baseline data
- Preparing revised cost forecast for select accounts
- Preparing analysis of progress trends and cost impact
- Participating in reviewing and approving contractor invoices
- Working hands on with earned value monitoring
- Evaluating manpower, labour hour, and labour cost requirements versus budget limitations including preparation of variance analysis
- Comparing actual cost to funding limitations
- Preparing expenditure forecasts to identify critical points in project funding
- Reviewing purchase order and subcontract commitments and expenditures
- Maintaining tracking database to ensure that subcontractor funding is aligned with work authorization and expenditures
- Understanding the way profits on projects are budgeted and the extent to which the budget value is achieved
- Possessing knowledge of scope control and change management
- Tracking system to ensure that project management is fully aware of detailed change order status
- Creating and assisting with cost/schedule baseline budgets
- Being familiar with basic cost/schedule integration and basic critical path analysis and other rescheduling concepts
- Conducting or assisting in performance measurement and associated cost trending
- Preparing and assisting in various levels of project reporting
- Participating in and may lead project cost review meetings
- Assisting in procedure development and implementation
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrable experience of delivery of PMO best practice in a consulting environment on infrastructure projects and programmes
- Skilled in the use of company cornerstone systems
- Able to represent cost data formats necessary to control the project
- Understands financial terminology and measures
- Recognizes the financial impact of various project actions
- Participates in analysing and using financial data to identify key project issues
- Able to use drawings and specifications in the establishment of project baseline data
- Knowledgeable of accounting principles with extensive understanding of the way the company establishes and documents the financial position
- Prepares revised cost forecast for select accounts
- Prepares analysis of progress trends and cost impact
- Works hands on with earned value monitoring
- Evaluates manpower, labour hour, and labour cost requirements versus budget limitations including preparation of variance analysis
