UNHCR is seeking an Associate Programme Officer to provide critical programmatic guidance and support for the implementation of protection and solutions strategies. This role coordinates across sections to ensure harmonized approaches and works with partners including forcibly displaced persons, governments, and the private sector.
What You'll Do
- Support assessing and analysing the needs of forcibly displaced and stateless persons using an Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective.
- Provide support on programmatic aspects of developing multi-year protection and solutions strategies and annual plans.
- Support Results Based Management and strengthen programme capacity.
- Assist the planning process to ensure compliance with planning parameters.
- Support the revision and analysis of plans, mid-year, and year-end reports.
- Assist in broadening partnerships with key stakeholders to maximize the protection and solutions response.
- Provide support to ensure consistent application of the framework for implementing with partners.
- Contribute to consistent and coherent monitoring approaches, tools, and systems.
- Actively contribute to UNHCR's programming community of practice.
- Oversee timely and effective follow-up of internal and external audits observations and recommendations.
- Support the identification and management of risks.
What We're Looking For
- 3 years relevant experience with an Undergraduate degree; or 2 years relevant experience with a Graduate degree; or 1 year relevant experience with a Doctorate degree.
- Undergraduate degree in Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or other relevant field.
- Certification Programme in Programme Management (CP-PM).
- Demonstrated experience in programme management, including OMC and Results Based-Management.
- Demonstrated experience in field operations, knowledge on the centrality of protection in programming, Joint Needs Assessments and targeting principles.
- For International Professional and Field Service jobs: Knowledge of English and UN working language of the duty station if not English.
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated experience in coordination within an inter-agency context and other actors, in a refugee or humanitarian context.
- Sound experience in program management training and capacity building activities.
Team & Environment
You may supervise a small team of local staff and will typically report to and be guided by the Program officer.

This position is onsite.
