Belfast, United Kingdom Hybrid Employment

Global Payments is hiring an Associate Product Architect

About the Role

Role Overview

As an Associate Product Architect, you will play a central role in shaping product direction by transforming business requirements into actionable technical plans. Working closely with Product Owners, Engineering teams, and Software Architects, you will ensure that development efforts are aligned with market demands, technical feasibility, and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and refine product requirements, ensuring they are clearly communicated to engineering stakeholders
  • Organize and prioritize initiatives based on value, dependencies, compliance, and time-to-market considerations
  • Support engineering teams by clarifying technical direction and resolving solution design challenges
  • Track and report progress across active product initiatives using real-time status dashboards
  • Collaborate with Product Owners during release planning and execution phases
  • Work alongside Technical Operations and Engineering during release cycles to ensure smooth deployment
  • Drive issue resolution and support solution design in partnership with development and architecture teams
  • Keep product and technical documentation current, including roadmaps, feature specifications, and system designs
  • Ensure product offerings remain competitive by responding to market shifts and emerging technologies
  • Translate strategic objectives into technical language that guides engineering implementation

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a BSc or MSc in Computer Science or a related field, or possess equivalent experience. You must be comfortable navigating ambiguity, capable of defining direction amid uncertainty, and willing to iterate and experiment to validate solutions.

Success in this role requires strong communication skills, the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical audiences, and experience translating business goals into technical outcomes. You should also be adaptable in a rapidly growing environment and skilled at balancing strategic and tactical decision-making.

Proven experience in application development and roadmap planning is essential. Familiarity with enterprise engineering, N-Tier systems, and API design—particularly SOAP XML and RESTful APIs—is highly valued. Experience as a Product Manager or Architect, along with proficiency in UML for modeling complex systems, will strengthen your application.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role based in Belfast, with flexible working arrangements from a modern office in the city center. You will operate within a dynamic, innovation-driven culture focused on delivering advanced payment technology solutions.
