Shell is hiring an Associate Engineer - OCC for a technical support role within our Projects and Technology business unit. You will provide remote monitoring and day-to-day operations management for onshore and offshore assets, ensuring safe and efficient performance.
What You'll Do
- Perform remote monitoring and day-to-day operations management for onshore/offshore assets.
- Monitor all safety-critical and process-critical signals for assets and report abnormalities to concerned OEM/asset focal.
- Perform detailed fact-based analysis of technical problems to define opportunities, threats, findings, and solutions.
- Track plant availability and report real-time forecasting of power generation to energy off-taker.
- Provide operations support for day-to-day activities including People & vessel inductions, Permits for work & vessel manifests.
- Act as first point of contact for emergencies and track real-time weather, vessel & personnel.
- Engage in operational tasks including HSSE Management, Procedure updates, Alarm Reviews, Shift Reports, Outside operator rounds, MOCs.
- Optimize work processes and resource utilization through a strong digitalization mindset.
- Understand equipment functions and interpret engineering drawings (Structure & Civil scope, Data sheets, GA, P&IDs, PEFS, PFDs, ISO’s).
- Conduct job hazard assessments, set out anticipated risks, and create Permits to Work.
- Engage with site stakeholders to communicate plans, obtain feedback, and solicit improvements.
- Assist team leads/project focals to standardize processes, tools, methods, and procedures.

Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 2-3 years of experience in Commissioning or Operations & Maintenance within the Oil & Gas, Power or Petrochemicals sector.
- Experience in Operations, Maintenance & troubleshooting of Static & Rotating equipment (Pumps, Gearboxes, Compressors, Vessels, Turbine, Valves, Exchangers), Electrical Equipment (Motors, Transformer, Switchgear, VFD’s, UPS & Battery systems), or instrumentation & control equipment.
- Experience in conditional monitoring & operational analysis.
- Experience in Technical Data and Documents management including processes and tools (e.g., SAP PM module implementation, MS Office tools like Excel).
- Additional tool knowledge of SharePoint, PowerApps, PowerBI.
- Knowledge of Upstream/DS/IG & renewables business and how it works.
- Experience in working together with multi-cultural teams for shift operations for 24x7 support.
- Experience in working with Renewable energy or Power generation plants.
