About the Role

Shell is looking for an Associate Engineer - OCC to join our technical support team. In this role, you will provide crucial operational support for Shell's global projects and assets, focusing on remote monitoring and proactive technical oversight to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our onshore and offshore facilities.

What You'll Do

  • Perform remote monitoring and day-to-day operations management for onshore and offshore assets.
  • Monitor all safety-critical and process-critical signals for assets and report any abnormalities.
  • Conduct detailed, fact-based analysis of technical problems to define opportunities, threats, findings, and solutions.
  • Track plant availability and report real-time forecasting of power generation to the energy off-taker.
  • Provide operations support for day-to-day activities, including people and vessel inductions, Permits to Work, and vessel manifests.
  • Act as the first point of contact for emergencies and track real-time weather, vessel, and personnel data.
  • Engage in operational tasks including HSSE management, procedure updates, alarm reviews, shift reports, outside operator rounds, and MOCs.
  • Apply a strong digitalization mindset to optimize work processes and resource utilization.
  • Understand the functions of various equipment and instruments and read/interpret engineering drawings.
  • Conduct job hazard assessments and create Permits to Work.
  • Engage with site stakeholders to communicate plans, obtain feedback, and solicit improvements.
  • Assist team leads and project focals to standardize processes, tools, methods, and procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer skills: Semi-skilled in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook as a minimum.
  • A strong aptitude for a Learner Mindset.
  • Flexibility to move quickly across changing priorities and manage multiple projects and programs.
  • The ability to independently, resourcefully, and creatively research and implement new solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to challenge constructively, and ability to build internal and external relationships based on trust.

Nice to Have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Commissioning or Operations & Maintenance within the Oil & Gas, Power, or Petrochemicals sector.
  • Experience in Operations, Maintenance, and troubleshooting of Static & Rotating equipment, Electrical Equipment, or instrumentation & control equipment.
  • Experience in conditional monitoring and operational analysis.
  • Experience in Technical Data and Documents management, including processes and tools such as SAP PM module implementation and MS Office tools like Excel.
  • Additional tool knowledge of SharePoint, PowerApps, PowerBI.
  • Knowledge of Upstream, Downstream, Integrated Gas & Renewables business and how it works.
  • Experience working with multi-cultural teams for shift operations providing 24x7 support.
  • Experience working with Renewable energy or Power generation plants.
