About the Role

Company is looking for an Associate Designer for Women's Knits to drive the creation of sustainable, trend-right apparel. In this role, you'll be responsible for concepting and developing product, ensuring style, fit, and quality align with brand strategy. You'll partner closely with a broad range of teams to bring compelling product lines to market.

What You'll Do

  • Research global markets to identify new seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, techniques, and competitive inspiration.
  • Develop concepts and sketches for the product line and present design ideas to leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Build strong internal relationships with Merchandising, Production, Technical Design, Gap Inc Sourcing (GIS), Visual Merchandising, and Marketing.
  • Partner with Production and Tech Design to create tech packs and communicate the vision behind fit and product design.
  • Communicate complex concepts in a simple, clear manner.
  • Participate in projects and assignments of diverse scope.
  • Manage sketch callouts and communicate desired fit and aesthetic to technical design.
  • Maintain sketch updates and specifications for trims, wash, and other details.

What We're Looking For

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment.
  • Ability to juggle multiple seasons simultaneously and track development deadlines.
  • An elevated sense of style, aesthetic, and color.
  • Understanding of how to translate trends through the lens of the customer and brand filter.
  • Thorough knowledge of silhouette, fit, fabrication, construction, color use, sewing techniques, and trim.
  • Applied knowledge of garment construction methods to the design process.
  • Strong computer skills including Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to present problem analysis and recommended solutions in a creative and logical manner.
