Company is hiring an Associate Designer for Women's Knits to work in an energizing, inclusive, and creative environment focused on concepting and creating sustainable product that exceeds customer expectations. You will partner with a cross-functional team to ensure product style, fit, and quality deliver significant value.
What You'll Do
- Research global markets to identify new seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, techniques, product categories, and competitive inspiration.
- Develop concepts and sketches for the product line and present design ideas to internal leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Build strong internal cross-functional relationships with Merchandising, Production, Technical Design, Gap Inc Sourcing (GIS), Visual Merchandising, and Marketing to ensure seamless product execution from concept to store and site.
- Partner with Production and Tech Design to create tech packs, communicate the vision behind fit and product design, and ensure execution, quality, and margin targets are achieved.
- Participate in projects and assignments of diverse scope.
- Handle sketch callouts, communicate desired fit and aesthetic to tech design, and maintain sketch updates and specifications for trims, wash, and more.

- Thorough knowledge of silhouette, fit, fabrication, construction, color use, sewing techniques, and trim.
- Applied knowledge of garment construction methods within the design process.
- Strong computer knowledge including Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to present problem analysis and recommended solutions in a creative and logical manner.
- Skill in communicating difficult concepts in a simple manner.
