What You'll Do
You'll manage a steady flow of commercial agreements, including NDAs, procurement contracts, and data licensing arrangements, from drafting through negotiation and execution. You'll serve as a trusted resource for internal teams on product, regulatory, and commercial legal matters, providing clear, actionable advice while knowing when to escalate complex issues.
Collaborate across Product, Technology, Go-to-Market, and Operations to deliver timely legal support that aligns with business goals. You'll refine legal processes by improving templates, playbooks, and knowledge systems to increase efficiency across the organization. Leverage AI and real-time API tools to automate and enhance contracting workflows, reducing cycle times and improving compliance.
This role requires sound judgment under tight timelines, the ability to operate independently, and a proactive approach to educating teams on key legal and regulatory developments.
Requirements
You must hold a JD from a U.S. law school and be in good standing with a U.S. state bar. Prior experience of 1–3 years in a legal role—ideally with exposure to contracting and commercial law—is required. You should demonstrate strong drafting, redlining, and legal research abilities, along with a track record of working autonomously in fast-paced environments.
Success in this role demands intellectual curiosity, solid interpersonal skills, and comfort using technology to solve legal challenges. You must be based in Austin or open to relocating there, and willing to travel occasionally. A genuine interest in balancing commercial, product, and regulatory legal work is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in commercial agreements, procurement, data licensing, or regulatory compliance is highly valued. Prior in-house legal experience is a plus, as is familiarity with legal technology platforms and AI-driven tools.
