Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for transportation, water, and public works projects
- Develop cost plans aligned with project stages and client requirements
- Support procurement by advising on contract strategies and tender documentation
- Monitor project expenditures and track financial performance against budgets
- Produce regular cost reports and forecasts for stakeholders
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize value and constructability
- Identify cost risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Assist in change management processes during project delivery
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and client-specific guidelines
- Contribute to benchmarking and cost data management initiatives
- Work with multidisciplinary teams across various project types
- Engage with clients to understand financial objectives and constraints
- Support the development of digital cost management tools and workflows
- Participate in project reviews and design evaluations
- Maintain accurate documentation throughout project lifecycle
- Provide input on lifecycle costing and sustainability considerations
- Assist in training junior team members
- Contribute to proposal development and business development efforts
- Ensure quality assurance in all cost-related deliverables
- Stay current with market rates, construction methods, and regulatory changes
- Work across sectors including roads, rail, utilities, and public facilities
- Support project closeout and final account processes
- Use software tools for cost modeling and data analysis
