Education First Consulting is hiring an Associate Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will support clients in implementing high-quality, rigorous instructional systems and aligned, coherent assessment practices. You will be a key contributor on project teams, leading research, managing workstreams, and synthesizing findings to inform client strategies.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the lead researcher on project teams, developing research work plans and ensuring deliverables meet standards.
- Develop interview protocols, administer and analyze surveys, and facilitate interviews and focus groups.
- Gather, organize, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data using equity-centered practices.
- Leverage research tools such as Qualtrics, Atlas.ti, and Gemini to execute research activities.
- Lead key portions of projects, such as specific work streams or client work groups.
- Develop and collaborate on client-ready presentations, memos, reports, and strategy documents.
- Coordinate client and project commitments, and design and facilitate client and internal meetings.
- Cultivate relationships with clients and your professional network on behalf of the firm.
- Build advanced knowledge of P-16 education policy issues by staying current on legislation and research.
- Mentor project team members and engage in team problem-solving by sharing ideas and best practices.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with research, project management, and/or program management in a relevant field such as policy, non-profit, government, or education consulting.
- A commitment to a more equitable education system and demonstrated understanding of current K12 reform issues, particularly assessments and high-quality instructional materials.
- A strong, confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, skilled at translating complex topics for varied audiences.
- Strong qualitative research skills, including interview/focus group analysis, landscape scans, literature reviews, and policy analysis.
- Enjoys leading convenings, collaboratives, or communities of practice with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong problem-solving skills, able to lead through ambiguity and ask difficult questions.
- A strong project manager with excellent time-management skills who is self-motivated and results-oriented.

- Compensation range: $81,000 - $87,600
