BWB&O is looking for a Litigation Associate Attorney to join our team. You'll manage a variety of litigation matters from inception through resolution, gaining immediate hands-on experience while collaborating closely with team members and being mentored by experienced partners.
What You'll Do
- Handle a variety of litigation matters involving wrongful death, premises liability, personal injury, construction disputes, breach of contract, and business disputes.
- Manage every case aspect, including legal strategy, research, drafting pleadings and motions, discovery management, arguing motions in court, attending mediations, and trial.
- Work directly with a diverse range of clients, including individuals, businesses, and organizations.
- Manage a caseload independently while working collaboratively with the litigation team.
What We're Looking For
- 1+ years of experience in civil litigation within a law firm environment.
- Demonstrated skill in conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, and propounding and responding to discovery.
- Proven ability to interface directly with clients and opposing counsel.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the State Bar of California.
- For remote candidates: residence within commuting distance of either our San Diego, CA or Encinitas, CA office for occasional in-person meetings.
Nice to Have
- Experience taking and defending depositions.
- Experience arguing motions and attending mediations.
- Trial experience.

- Compensation: $110,000-$155,000 + performance-based bonus plan
